land-mark, n. a fixed object used to mark out or identify an owner's property. In the spiritual realm, the old landmarks are those doctrines that help us to know and apprehend our vast inheritance in Christ.Old Landmarks Remove not the old landmark... --Proverbs 23:10

LET'S GO BACK TO THE OLD LANDMARKS OF THE FAITH
A SHORT, BUT IMPORTANT, INTRODUCTIONThe true Christian life is not a restriction, it is abundant, rich, free, sublime. Yet many professed Christians languish like fish out of water. They realize that they have no power and no anointing but they don't know what to do about it, maybe they don't even know what anointing is. An enemy hath obscured the old landmarks that show us our vast spiritual inheritance and how to enjoy it. Knowing Christ is more than being able to recite your church's "statement of faith". The kingdom of God is not in word, but in POWER (1 Corinthians 4:20, I Thessalonians 1:5) Power was not relegated only to the days of the apostles--the Holy Ghost will empower YOU if you'll study and obey the word. There is POWER in a righteous, self-denying life that seeks only to glorify God and his Christ.
The purpose of this website is to resurrect the OLD landmarks for the remembrance and practice of God's people. Let us understand and embrace Bible words and doctrines such as sanctification (your affections and desires purified) and consecration (you and your goods being set apart for sacred uses)...Come then, and let us journey BACK in time to the OLD landmarks that our fathers have set for our learning and understanding. The featured articles will instruct, rebuke, challenge and inspire those moving on to perfection (ref. Heb 6:1).
If you are unsaved, not grounded in the scriptures, watch tv, etc. the website at this link may help you on your journey. [Note: without good understanding of the Authorized Version of the holy scriptures, the reader is unable to discern what is good and what needs to be discarded. An overview of the Bible can be found at this link)] Old Landmarks features authors of various theological persuasions. These writings have been compiled to assist those who are moving on to perfection. Calvinistic writers emphasize the holiness and the sovereignty of God--but they are not right on every point. They are very wrong on more than one point. For the unlearned, never call yourself anything but what the Bible calls you--saint, Christian, disciple, etc. Never "Baptist," "Calvinist," "Puritan," etc. Be a Christian, a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, and let the Authorized Version of the Bible be your only creed.
When we (1) SUBMIT to the divine precepts (found in the word) and (2) REJECT the flesh/devil/world in all their guises--then the Holy Ghost will enlighten the eyes of our understanding more than ever. We will no longer languish, we will THRIVE in the knowledge of the holy. Isaiah 58:11-12 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: THOU SHALT RAISE UP THE FOUNDATIONS of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
When we leave the world 100% (including television, etc.) and lay hold on Christ we will step into a whole new realm. Therefore,
"Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward...ARISE, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee."Follow the landmarks--there is something wonderful awaiting you on the other side of your obedience to the faith.
Recommendation: Print out a few chapters of information here that appeals to you, grab a pen (for making notes and underlining good points), and read it on the deck, in the tub, in the family room, anywhere. Take along a cup of coffee or your favorite drink, if you like. When you first start reading the old divines, their writing may seem sophisticated compared to the simple five minute newsbites many are accustomed to--but you'll get used to it before long. In fact, you'll come to enjoy the rich, meaningful vocabulary and deep expositions of the word. Read, consider, pray, meditate, and bask in knowledge of the holy--put it into practice, exercise yourself in it. As you read, sometimes you'll agree with the author, sometimes you'll disagree, sometimes you'll receive a word of revelation, sometimes a word of rebuke or confirmation. After you've been enlightened, share what you've learned with others--have a home Bible study or fellowship dinner. You may even want to write a short meditation on what you've learned. May God enlighten the eyes of your understanding as you follow on to know Him. Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
Truth Lover Alert
All the major themes of these end times can be found on one link, on one specific webpage. May no truth lover take that page for granted. Go to this link (Jesus-is-Lord.com) and print out that one specific page. The themes are there. One can just read that specific page. It links to articles that give further important information. The Bible has many prophecies. Now is the time to fill in the blanks.
The Sabbath Day
The fourth commandment tells us to remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. The sabbath day is the seventh day of the week. For Americans we call it Saturday. It is the day when we are to rest from our labours like God did. Church people, for years, have either called Sunday the sabbath or treated Sunday like the sabbath. Has there been a curse on the visible church because of this as they have been chronically profaning the sabbath? Important note: The Seventh Day Adventist "Church" is a cult that teaches heresies and blasphemies--may no one ever join it or receive its doctrines.
An excerpt from "A Defense of the Sabbath"--
Genesis 2:2-3 teaches us that FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE WORLD, long before Moses ever received the law on mount Sinai, the sabbath has been the SEVENTH DAY of the week. God specifically ENDED his work on the SEVENTH DAY, RESTED on the SEVENTH DAY, BLESSED the SEVENTH DAY and SANCTIFIED it. There is actually a blessed, sanctified day of the week. All days are not the same. ONE has been set apart--THE SEVENTH DAY. The sabbath is the seventh day, has always been the seventh day, and always will be the seventh day. No other day is the sabbath of the Lord. It is a perpetual memorial of what God did when he created the heavens and the earth. No where in the scriptures does it ever say that the sabbath ever changed from the SEVENTH day. It can't--God rested on the SEVENTH day from his work of creation. That was a one time act. The sabbath is the SEVENTH day.The sabbath is an ancient observance. Even Adam had it in that perfect world. It was by no means a burden, but a blessing. God observed it and he commands us to observe it as well.
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Exodus 20:8

Prayer and Unction
Let this information stimulate and inspire you to go further in prayer [NOT "CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER," AN OCCULT TECHNIQUE USED IN THE EMERGING CHURCH OF THE DEVIL, CHANTING WORDS OVER AND OVER AGAIN (see the end of this section for more information)]. Seek the honour, power, and anointing that cometh from God alone. Prayer is your special time to go down on your knees to commune with your Father. In prayer, you render thanksgiving, praise and worship unto God for His excellent greatness (you can start by reading a praise Psalm to inspire you). Prayer is a whole other realm of Christian experience where you receive grace, divine instruction, revelation, illumination, etc. from God's throne. Prayer is not to be rote and dried up. Jesus would sometimes pray to the Father all night long. Men ought always to pray and not to faint. It availeth MUCH. Tarry with it until your breakthrough comes.

- Contemplative Prayer: A Quick Road to Hell for a Disobedient Church--Part I: The Recipe for Disaster (Many church people Many church people are quite literally magicians and devil worshippers in training. Warning: obey the Authorized Version of 1611 of the Bible only and accept no new "techniques" e.g. meditation and yoga-type practices. "Contemplative" prayer is essentially an old occult technique adjusted to the ignorant church people. It can bring up that yoga kundalini serpent power. With open eyes, one can see this type of technique being magnified in society--I saw a book for magic in a place for shipping goods and for photocopies, office supplies, etc. I looked on the back of the book, it was the same technique as the church people are using. This is spreading like wildfire and not just amongst false (or extremely ignorant) brethren, it is throughout society. Revelation 13:8 teaches us that all people who are not in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world will worship the beast. Revelation 13:4 says that all the world will worship the dragon which gave power unto the beast--we learn from Revelation 12 that THE DRAGON IS SATAN. In the ecumenical movement (all the religions getting together in "peace") and under a "meditative" spirituality, Hindus, Buddhists, Roman Catholics, church people, atheists, Muslims, cabalists, new agers, etc. can get together and have a "meditation" session with no problems. This is not for the future, it is already happening, I picked up a brochure about some sessions while at a library. In Contemplative prayer, church people are calling the devil by the Lord's name. I read that many of them will not listen to the scriptures when confronted with the truth--they do not know the Lord's voice, they are not his sheep. Worldly people are under the devil and they despise holiness and speak against it as "legalism" or even as heresy or false doctrine. I have seen extreme antinomianism in Baptist churches. They derisively call work-out-your-own-salvation-with-fear-and-trembling discipleship "Lordship salvation". If a person does not obey the Lord, they are not saved. The reader may wish to see the article, Lordship Salvation.)
- People are being led to commit the sin that hath never forgiveness... (this is tied in with the "contemplative prayer" movement. See the above entry.)

- Consecration (Why do so few professed Christians personally know about God's power to them for service? How many know about the gift(s) that he has given to them personally and about his equipping and continual influences and recalibrations of our spirits? Why are so many weak and begarly and ready to die? Why are so many of lost savour? ...Many have not fully renounced the world and self--they are worldly and still watch television. Maybe some are ignorant (television is a given in today's world), but many are not saved. Many have too much static interference--sin; "whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not ALL that he hath, he cannot be my disciple" (Luke 14:33). People that keep up their worldliness cannot be the Lord's disciple. A disciple is a follower, the worldly cannot follow God's word, because they busy themselves disobeying it. For them that have an ear to hear, fear and trembling are in order. Consecration is the act of setting apart ourselves and all that we have to the service of God. We should each seek personal consecration--the unconditional surrendering of ourselves and all that we own to God's service. This occurs naturally if we have been born again, have desired the sincere milk of the word and have continued therein. We just start making adjustments as we read the various doctrines/teachings of the Bible. We let the word into our lives and our lives change as a result. There is a work for each of us Christians to do. We are the servants of the Lord. As we obey and abide in God's word, God provides each of us the precise gifts and duties that he has appointed. A person can actually just find himself doing a certain ministry--just naturally and not necessarily recognizing that he is exercising a spiritual gift. Sometimes someone will identify a gift in them. Just be obedient to God's word and let it permeate and penetrate into your whole life.)

One missionary said something like this--that he wished he had spent 40 years spiritually preparing for the field and seven years working in the field instead of the other way around--maybe he was not sent, he went on his own accord. It is the anointing that breaks the yoke--but I perceive that it does not take 40 years to get it (though we do grow and mature). Finney testifies that the Holy Ghost will give you a vast increase of divine illumination.)

  Sorrows
Ecclesiastes 1:18 For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow. The nearer we draw to God the further we get from the world--and many sitting in the church pews. Holy people are not received by carnal minds. We get gnashed on--it's just part of the process as God uses us to convict men of their unlawful deeds. These things are grievous. God tells us to eat the roll of knowledge. In our mouth, the revelation is as sweet as honey but it makes our belly bitter as we see things for what they are. The Lord says to the gospel worker to keep exercising their gifts in spite of the apostasy. The way of the cross includes suffering (ref Phi 3:10)
